What to expect back to top

Get the information and resources you need to direct a successful PSIA academic program.

Workshops offer full explanations of rule changes in contest content and administration. Learn from experienced coaches and directors how to prepare students for contests, gain public support, and coordinate a successful academic program. A 30-minute Introductory Session precedes each morning workshop at 9:30 a.m.  The intro workshop will not be held at the Austin afternoon location.

All participants receive resource materials to assist in preparing schools to participate successfully in the upcoming spring meets. Valuable door prizes will be awarded throughout the sessions.  A continental breakfast and lunch will be served.

PSIA Executive Director Patricia Walters, Ed.D., discusses important changes in the conflict pattern and the rule changes that take effect in the current year. A major focus is in training prospective contest directors, graders, and judges in program administration, parent communications and handbook guidelines for successful and enjoyable participation.

Experienced educators who have guided students to success in academic competition share strategies and ways to encourage students to reach for their highest academic and personal goals.

Certified inservice Credit (Professional Development CPE Credit) will be documented for each participant.
