Quick thinking and clear speaking combine to create this fast-paced speech event. During their turn, the contestant draws out 3 topics and has 60 seconds to select one of the topics to present. The contestant then has 3 minutes to plan out a short speech (with or without paper). After this prep time, the contest director reads the topic aloud. The contestant then has a maximum of 5 minutes to deliver the speech (without notes or props).
